LOCALLY MADE
In 1983, with sparkling sand under their feet and warm rays on their skin, my parents - Corin and Brian Powell created Running Bare. They set out to produce elevated activewear inspired by the place where it all began — Bondi Beach, Sydney — so women all over the world could own a piece of this iconic stretch of sand. Forever staying true to our Bondi roots, Running Bare is masterfully designed, crafted, and produced locally.
CRAFT & COMMUNITY
The Running Bare mantra is quality over quantity; and making garments that are masterfully crafted and conscientiously manufactured. The standards and certifications considered under this attribute
include Fairtrade, Fair for Life, The World Fair Trade Organisation, and Fair Trade Certified.
From the materials we use to the manufacturing processes we employ, Running Bare is dedicated to reducing our ecological footprint. We prioritize the use of eco-friendly fabrics made from recycled
materials, ecologically friendly fabrics, and other sustainable fibres. By sourcing responsibly, we ensure that our products are both high-quality and environmentally conscious.
In addition, we have implemented innovative strategies to minimize waste and conserve resources throughout our supply chain. Our fabric mills & manufacturing facilities adhere to strict sustainabilitystandards, ensuring that water and energy usage are minimized, and emissions are reduced. We continuously explore new technologies and practices that enable us to achieve greater efficiency and
reduce our impact on the environment.

GIVING BACK (IT TAKES A VILLAGE)
The production hub of Running Bare is the Operations team. From testing zippers through to warehousing, our Operations team are driven by a desire to deliver Running Bare garments to the highest level of quality & sustainability. They are the engine room that keeps Running Bare headquarters flowing seamlessly. Running Bare products are intimately connected to our own community & country. We actively pursue sustainability across all key areas of our brand: our fabric mills; our factories; our cutting room & our operations. All our stretch items are manufactured locally & we pride ourselves on the high quality garments that are consciously crafted at our factory in Sydney, Australia. At the heart of everything we do is our heritage: we are Australian born & bred, Australian owned & Australian made, creating premium products of which we are proud.
Through various initiatives, Running Bare strives to make a positive impact and uplift those around us. We are dedicated to fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and well-being within our communities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to lead an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
One of our key focuses is supporting youth development and promoting active living among young individuals. We actively collaborate with local schools, surf clubs, and organizations to provide resources, sponsorships, and mentorship programs that encourage physical activity and instill important life skills. We have been the major sponsor of North Bondi SLSC for all of our 40 years and believe that giving back to the community on the shores where the Running Bare brand was born if of the utmost importance.
Additionally, we believe in the power of diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment for all. Through partnerships with community organizations, we actively promote diversity and celebrate individuals from all backgrounds. We provide support to initiatives that promote gender equality, body positivity, and social inclusivity, because we firmly believe that everyone deserves to feel empowered and represented. We are proud to be the official sponsor of Lifesavers With Pride and join them in their journey to create a welcoming, progressive & LGBTQIA+ inclusive surf lifesaving culture.
In addition to these community organisation, we are the Major Sponsor of Running For Premature Babies. A group that was formed through tragedy when our co-owner, Yolanda & Sophie Smith met in the ICU after both giving birth to premature babies. Sadly Sophie lost all three of their prematurely born triplets. However a life-long friendship was formed between these two women and a legacy was born. What began as a quest to run one Half Marathon and raise $20,000 for one new humidicrib for the hospital in memory of Sophie’s boys, has grown into what is now the Running for Premature Babies Foundation. Running for Premature Babies has so far raised over $7 million for life saving neonatal equipment and funded research to solve the many mysteries of prematurity and advance the care of premature babies for the future. And Running Bare has been their main advocate and major sponsor for all of its 17+ years of existence.
Furthermore, Running Bare recognizes the importance of environmental stewardship. We actively participate in community clean-up campaigns and other environmentally focused activities. By engaging in these efforts, we strive to create a cleaner and greener environment for current and future generations to enjoy.
Our commitment to community involvement extends beyond financial support. We encourage our employees and brand ambassadors to actively engage in volunteer work and contribute their time and skills to causes they are passionate about.
